Kjell Reuterswärd och Johan Åkesson (DICE)

Kjell Reuterswärd is originally from Jämtland, Sweden, and began his studies on the Media Technology program in Norrköping in the year 2000. Kjell spent his forth year studying at Stanford, USA. His graduationwork he did at Digital Domain, also in USA. He got his degree in the year 2005. For two years, 2002 and 2003, Kjell himself worked with arranging the Media Technology Days, the second year he was projekt manager. He began working at DICE in the year 2005, with tools developmnent on Battlefield 2142. He programmed gameplay and audio on Mirror’s Edge and has since then started working as first a Development Director and then a Line Manager.

Today Kjell is a Line Manager for the gamedesigners and producers at DICE. He has during his time on DICE shipped two titles, Mirror’s Edge and Battlefield 2142. He likes the role of the leader, but above all the possiblity as a leader to inspire and maximize other people’s potential.

On the Media Technology Days, Kjell will talk about the gaming industry, DICE and what types of carriers that awaits the students of Media Technology.


Johan Åkesson is originally from Blekinge, Sweden, and began his studies on the Media Technology program in Norrköping in the year 2000. During his forth year he held a position in the student union Lintek’s board. He did is graduation work at Digital Domain in USA and took his degree in 2006. Afterwards, he started working as a programmer for DICE where he as developed building-systems, gameplay/animation and graphics. I his work he has shipped one title, Mirror’s Edge, and helped out on another, Battlefield Bad Company 2 for PC.

On the Media Technology Days Johan will amongst other things talk about how it is to work on DICE. He will try to give a picture of the renderingtechnologies that is in use in the games of today and also give a glimpse of the algorithms of tomorrow.
