Mattias Lindahl started out as a student in Computer Graphics for media applications in Skellefteå 1995, now named gscept. Having finished his studies he began working for LEGO in Denmark, on their new digital department he worked with 3D animation for games and the Legoland parks amongst other things. 1999 he moved to London to begin working at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop and later Double Negative, which is where he has worked until recently, January 2010. Now he is moving back to Sweden to work with FIDO in Stockholm.
There was not much of separate job roles in the beginning of the early VFX business, so Mattias worked with most thing in 3D, modelling, animtion, lighting and rendering. He was soon promoted to the role of CG Supervisor, first as internal VFX Supervisor at Double Negative on the movie Stardust and later as overall VFX Supervisor on the movie Kick-Ass.
In the year of 2008 he was nominated for a BAFTA for the movie The Bourne Ultimatum. Other movies he have participated in are Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Angels & Demons, Flyboys, Batman Begins and more.
On Media Technology Days 2010 Mattias will talk, among other things, about his experiences of the movie and VFX industry in London.
